Indian team who have won the silver medal in the grand FIH Champions Trophy 2016. After 1982 Amstelveen (Netherlands) Bronze this is the best ever finish for the Indian team .It was really a scintillating performance by the young Indian team after their loss in the previous game by 4-2 and come back to give such a display of competitive hockey to level draw 0-0 in 60 minutes against the mighty world no1 Australians.
Just 48 more days for Rio Olympics and team India is going to be a real competitor.Come back for more new updates on Indian hockey team.

It is a pleasant surprise to all the hockey audience around the world to see the young Indian team playing the gold medal match against the mighty Australians who is currently the world's no.1. It was indeed a surprise because this Indian team has a complete bunch of youngsters while the few of the stars like our captain Sardar Singh, Rupinder Paul, Birendra Lakra and Gurbaj Singh are being rested but still the team has managed to have a fight for the Gold medal. Although the Indian team was ranked as lowly as no 7 just above the Koreans who are at no 9.
The young team stepped up with a good commendable performance against all other high ranked teams like Germany, Great Britain, Belgium in the league games. Infact the team faced hard time against the Australians in the final league match and lost 4-2. The team showed enough fight in the final quater where they gave complete dominance against the Australians. Many still say that it is just because of Great Britain and Belgians results that the Indian team are into the finals but to tell the truth the statistics matters, in a league tournament each victory matters and we were able to challenge the other teams and indeed the indian team managed to reached the top two spot.So it's the final here and the young and energetic Indian team is ready for a fight against to world no 1.You can find the live commentary below by 12:45 AM .Come back on time to catch the action..
