Devinder Walmiki Indian Hockey Player :Journey to Hockey & More
Devinder Sunil Walmiki is a field hockey player who represents the Indian team in jersey no 22. Devinder Walmiki celebrates his birthday on 28th May and he was born on the year 1992 at Maharashtra .Devinder is a sensible mid- fielder in the current Indian squad.He first represented the Indian team in the Junior at the Sultan Johar Cup tournament at Malayasia in the year 2010. Devinder made his debut for the Senior team in the year 2015 for FIH World League Semifinals in Antwerp, Belgium where he also managed to show his presence by scoring a goal to make India win the match.

Devinder although a forward in the domestic circuit in his younger days has grown into role of an attacking midfielder.He is always a bold player who puts in his body front to save the game.To bring some unique statistics on him , you could always see a band aid/medical plaster on him in each tournament.
Devinder Walmiki Hockey career !
Devinder Walmiki represents the Kalinga Lancers in the Hockey India League .Infact after providing some dependable performance from the inaugral edition in 2013 , he was retained in the squad. Devinder was bought by Kalinga Lancers for 5 times of his base price for $15000 .Devinder also represent the Railways team in the domestic circuit.
Devinder also gave some outstanding performance in World Series Hockey tournament and single handedly took Mumbai Marines to back to back victories which in return made him earn back to back Man of the match awards as well.Playing for the WSH tournament with Mumbai marines earned him a ban for one year.He was completely deteriorated after that ban and lost hopes in returning to the National squad.However with his brother Yuvraj Walmiki's motivation and assurance he once again proved he is a real fighter by showing up some quality performance in the National level tournaments and coming back to the National probables.
Devinder Walmiki was rewarded one lakh prize money in the 2nd Hockey National Awards for scoring goal on his debut against Belgium in HWL, semifinal.Devinder was also rewarded with some praising words from HI secretary Md.Mushtaque Ahmad - "Devinder is a disciplined player and has an impressive track record throughout his junior career" .

Devinder Walmiki's journey to hockey was not a surprise as he had his family with hockey background. Devinder followed his elder brother Yuvraj Walmiki's footsteps into hockey by choosing to be an attacking mid-fielder.The brother's who went to school together with their books in bags on their back indeed made their childhood dream come true by representing the national team together carrying their Indian kit on their backs together.This is a real achievement to the Walmiki family.
Devinder Walmiki with his charming dimple smiles always has had a good following with the girls.As of now Devinder Walmiki is single , happy and completely focused to represent the Indian team in Olympics and win a gold medal.
