Flying start of Vandana Kataria from Roshnabad to Rio

Vandana kataria was born on 15 April 1992 in Uttar Pradesh. Her father Nahar singh is employed at BHEL as a master technician. She hails from the Roshanabad village in Uttarkhand. First time she represented the country as a junior player in 2006 and made her debut for the senior team four years later in 2010 as a 18 year old prodigious forward.

 The best moment of her career was considered  when she helped the junior Indian women's team clinch the bronze medal at the 2013 world cup in Monchengladbach ,Germany. Also she turned out to be the top scorer for India with 5 goals in 4 matches . Chief Minister of Uttrakhand had given a prize money of 2 lakhs for her impressive performance in the tournament .

 Now she is just 24 year age and she is already one of the most experienced player in the Indian squad. She also has completed 100 matches for the Indian eves team at the 2014 Common Wealth games in Glasgow in the match against Canada.Once she missed to be on the team at Hawke’s Bay Cup, and the Indian eves could only finish by 6th position.There is no doubt that Vandana's presence is going to make a big difference in the Indian eves team as she strengthens the attack with her smoothy dribbling skills and fast paced attacks to break the opposition's defence which at most of the times leaves the opponents on the back foot. 

In world league Vandana kataria scoring form, as she finished with 11 goals . which made her top scorer of the event. According to the chief coach Roelant Oltmans Vandana is one of the top forwards in world hockey She is quick can score goal, can defend and is improving all the time. We can say Vandana was the one of The main reasons for the Indians women’s hockey team’s qualification for the Rio Olympics after a long wait of 36 years. She was also given a prize money of 1 lakh as the whole team was rewared by hockey india Officialsfor making the cut for the game in 2015. Vandana kataria is one of the most talented youngsters in the Indian women’s hockey team.

 She will be representing the country at Rio- Olympics as a member of the Indian eves hockey team. The Indian team also will be taking part in the Olympics after 36 years. According to Vandana the morale of the team is high .She says,our performance in Antwerp gave us a lot of confidence also we have beat a lot of teams that we’ll be facing at Rio.She is dreaming of a dazzling on field performance on a consistent basis and she is ready to do everything  to steer her team to win a medal at the Olympics.
