Indian Hockey team squad for Rio, Olympics 2016

After an intense discussion with the committee, Narinder Batra the President of Hockey India released the squad for the upcoming Olympics.

The occasion was filled with famous personalities including the players and the top management of the Indian Hockey organization. The meet was felicitated by FIH President Leandro Negre and the newly chosen Sports Minister Vijay Goel with the BJP President Amit Shah as the chief guest.

Indian Men’s Hockey team:

To everybody’s surprise guess who sustained to lead the team for the second time, it’s the Goalie this moment in time! Yes, PR Sreejesh earned the captaincy title after the team’s breathtaking performances under him in the FIH Champions trophy 2016. And we have SV Sunil, the swift forwarder as the Vice Captain.

Indian Women’s Hockey team:

This is the first time the Indian Women’s Hockey team is participating in the Olympics after 36 years, no wonder they are called the Golden girls of Hockey.

Sushila Chanu will lead the women’s team as Ritu Rani was dropped out of the squad for a couple of reasons. While Deepika grabs the post of the Vice Captain.
