Dr.Narinder Batra , the board president of Hockey India has been nominated by the HI committee to participate in the FIH presidential election which is going to be held at Dubai,UAE on 12th November,2016 .

The current FIH president Leandro Negre's 8 year long term is coming to an end.So far three candidates have been officially nominated by their respective federations.

They include:Mr.Ken Read from Australia , Mr.David Balbirnie from Ireland and Dr.Narinder Batra from India. 

But the competition is going to be shifted between Mr.Ken Read and Dr.Narinder Batra .Dr.Narinder Batra has brought himself and the country so much prominence by bringing into India some of the major international hockey events like FIH Champions trophy 2014, FIH HWL Final 2105 ,FIH Jr.Hockey Men's World cup 2016 ,FIH Men's World Cup 2018 .So the chances of Dr.Narinder Batra as the next FIH president is high .Also Narinder Batra is well known for his supportive and encouraging activities towards hockey among the associate countries.We got to wait till the elections to get the official news.
